New roofs

Did you guys even read what I wrote? Lol, the floor would be auto made based on the ceiling, the ceiling would be player made.

I think an easy option would be keep the level one upgrade on the foundation the same and then when you go to make the roof onscreen you are prompted with the regular "press E to update foundation" with a little added; "press E to upgrade foundation to roof or press S to build a segmented roof"
Segmented roof only take 1 plank to build the frame of it as the upgrade and then each of the four sections can have a "press E to upgrade" and each roof section will cost 1 plank each.

This could work.

Will smith needs to step into the shadows once in a while and whisper ideas in the minds of men to get the ball rolling with ideas to help the greater good.

cant you just recode the roof thats already made with a stair hole as a foundation? so in the crafting table you have 2 seperate foundations, as well as 2 seperate roofs instead of the (auto foundation upgrade with 5 planks), you actually have to craft your ceiling instead of upgrading your foundation.

That's one of the options, but the floor of the foundation on top of it would get in the way.

also, if you make a foundation that has the 'stair hole' in it, we can lay that one first onto the ground and then plant tomatoes inside our base, so, in the crafting menu there would be 2 foundations, 1 of which has the stair hole for which you would craft to put on your ceiling (which already has the stair hole) and a solid one if you choose not to have a hole in the floor
and we would also have 2 different roofs, one solid, one that would allow a stair hole, im using 4 different items to be crafted because it seems chaozz would have a harder time allowing it to "auto adjust" the holes, anyone who has tried laying stairs to go in a certain directioin KNOWS that they can be a major pain in the ass to line up without shifting into a different position than what u wanted

Or just have a frame, upgrading takes 1 planks, and have quarter floors that take 1 planks and roofs that take 1 plank.

but he already has the models for what im talking about, and its the simplest way to insert stair holes, but the only issue is i think facing the correct direction to line up stairs and hole, like i said, they get wonky sometimes and dont wanna be placed how they should, and also, we can have a hole to exit our base (for bases on hills) and jump out into the action
